What is HArmonyCa? Unpacking the shift toward regenerative aesthetics

One of the biggest changes I'm seeing in aesthetic medicine isn't just the arrival of new products, it's a shift in how we approach facial rejuvenation.

For many years, aesthetic treatments focused on restoring what time had taken away. We replaced lost volume with dermal fillers, softened wrinkles, and enhanced facial contours. Those treatments remain an important part of aesthetic medicine, but today we're also looking at how we can support the skin's natural structure and collagen production over time. That's why regenerative aesthetics has become one of the most exciting areas of our industry.

It reflects a broader shift in how people think about aging and less about reversing it, more about supporting the body's ability to maintain itself, whether that's through nutrition and strength training or through treatments like this one.

What is Regenerative Aesthetics?

Regenerative aesthetics focuses on treatments that work with your body's natural processes to improve skin quality.

As we age, collagen production declines. Because collagen and elastin provides strength, firmness, and elasticity, this natural loss contributes to skin laxity, less bounce, more sagginess, and changes in your skin's appearance. Rather than simply replacing lost volume, regenerative treatments, particularly the injectable biostimulators, are designed to stimulate your body's own collagen production supporting healthy skin from within, not just filling in what's missing.

What Is HArmonyCa and Why Is It Different?

HArmonyCa is one of the newest regenerative injectables available in Canada. Although it's been available in other countries for a decade, HArmonyCa received official Health Canada authorization in May 2026 as an injectable for collagen stimulation.

HArmonyCa is a dual action injectable that combines hyaluronic acid (HA) with calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) in one single injection, improving skin architecture by providing an immediate lift from HA and a sustained lifting effect from new collagen production associated with CaHA.

What makes it different is how it encorporates hyaluronic acid and biostimulator: Calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a hyaluronic acid matrix. The CaHA microspheres, directly activate fibroblasts in the dermis to stimulate new collagen synthesis, while the surrounding HA provides the immediate lift, hydration, and contour patients see immediately after treatment.

Traditional HA fillers remain excellent for restoring deep volume loss and defining features, and they're still an important modality in my practice. HArmonyCa adds another layer by supporting the skin's underlying structure as your body responds, rather than only replacing volume.

Benefits of HArmonyCa

See how the skin changes with treatment
See how the skin changes with treatment

● Dual-action results: immediate lift from HA, plus gradual collagen building from CaHA

● Longer-lasting support: collagen stimulation continues for months after treatment

● Looks great and feels natural: As the body builds its own structural support, some patients find it feels more youthful than HA filler alone, though this varies by individual.

A More Personalized Approach

Most patients I see aren't asking to look like someone else; they want to look like the best version of themselves. That's why every treatment starts with a consultation.

For some, traditional fillers are the right treatment. For others, a biostimulator like HArmonyCa fits better. Sometimes a combination of both work best.

Who's a Candidate for HArmonyCa?

Most people experiencing early skin changes, skin laxity, or rapid weight loss are good candidates. It all starts with a conversation.

What's the Downtime?

Normal activities can typically resume right away, though strenuous exercise and alcohol should be avoided for 48 hours. Swelling, and bruising can be a side affect with any injectable.

As always, I happy to answer any questions. I'm here to help, I hope to see you soon.
