Finally, a treatment that hydrates from the inside out: A primer on microinjections

Updated: Jun 16

Thanks to Manitoba weather, you may feel like all the moisture has been sucked out of your skin. There’s no question that the weather in Winnipeg can give you dry skin, but if you’re over 30 years old, there’s also something else going on.

After age 28, our skin starts to lose collagen, fat and hyaluronic acid. Many of my patients lament the loss of the plumpness in their faces. Fortunately, there is a way to get back that fresh, dewy look with microinjection treatments.

microinjection treatments increase the hydration level of your skin from the inside out. You can put moisturizer on your face for mediocre results or you can infuse your skin with hydration that lasts longer with microinjections.

These treatments involve microinjections of product. The injections are different than a filler treatment in that microinjections don’t add structure or volume. It is an in-between step between mesotherapy and dermal fillers.

Because there are multiple, superficial injection sites applied to the skin, the microinjection treatments are beneficial in two ways. You get the benefits of microneedling as well as the hydrating effect of the product that is being infused into the skin. The leading microinjection products have hyaluronic acid, which pulls in water and the multiple needle sites turbocharges your fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin.

Microinjection treatments work well for men and women of all skin types. The increased hydration levels will make your skin look firmer, smoother, and radiant.

You may not get back your baby face from high school, but microinjections can go a long way to improve dry skin, smoker’s lines and sun-damaged skin. How long the results last depends on the product being used; because everyone’s skin is different, I customize treatments for each client. You can get a treatment done over lunch hour and go right back to work.

I am passionate about this microinjections treatment and I love what it has done for my clients. If this treatment piques your interest, please contact me.
